I would like to begin this article by sharing this compelling short story with you;
Once a little boy was playing outdoors and found a fascinating caterpillar. He carefully picked it up and took it home to show his mother. He asked his mother if he could keep it, and she said he could if he would take good care of it. The little boy got a large jar from his mother and put plants to eat, and a stick to climb on, in the jar.![]() Every day he watched the caterpillar and brought it new plants to eat. One day the caterpillar climbed up the stick and started acting strangely. The boy worriedly called his mother who came and understood that the caterpillar was creating a cocoon. The mother explained to the boy how the caterpillar was going to go through a metamorphosis and become a butterfly. The little boy was thrilled to hear about the changes his caterpillar would go through. He watched every day, waiting for the butterfly to emerge. One day it happened, a small hole appeared in the cocoon and the butterfly started to struggle to come out. At first the boy was excited, but soon he became concerned. The butterfly was struggling so hard to get out! It looked like it couldn’t break free! It looked desperate! It looked like it was making no progress! The boy was so concerned he decided to help. He ran to get scissors, and then walked back (because he had learned not to run with scissors…). He snipped the cocoon to make the hole bigger and the butterfly quickly emerged! As the butterfly came out the boy was surprised. It had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. He continued to watch the butterfly expecting that, at any moment, the wings would dry out, enlarge and expand to support the swollen body. He knew that in time the body would shrink and the butterfly’s wings would expand. But neither happened!
The butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly…

Great story right? For many of you, that was enough for today! However, there is much more that I would love to share with you. Do you really understand that you don’t have to be an overnight success? In fact, if you ask your up-line about it, and they are honest with you, they will tell you that they faced the very same difficulties you are facing right now at some point – and probably more than once!
The internet is littered with people who have been burnt, people who are skeptical of anything that makes claims it can provide generous wealth. After a quick search I found these quotes from people who had a negative outlook on MLM.
“They should ban MLMs. They are virtually legalized pyramid schemes!” – http://bit.ly/nD4MfR
“Very few people make any money from it, and you have to scam hundreds of others in order to do that.” – http://bit.ly/hgm2jO
The truth is that those people who have had bad experiences with the MLM industry generally hold their opinion for a range of similar reasons, I will list the TOP 5 that I have experienced here:
| The MLM business they joined was a Pyramid/Ponzi Scheme in disguise (If this concerns you, a great book to read to know for certain that your opportunity is all that it claims is called The New Professionals: The Rise of Network Marketing As the Next Major Profession) | |
| They either did not have the true support of their “up-line” or “sponsor” or they did not use them to validate at all. | |
| They did not treat the opportunity as though it was the valuable investment that it is. | |
| They have not experienced MLM in the digital age – (no driving hours to drop off products – if this is you, we need to talk - (Email me here!) | |

Heres the kicker, I would say that 9/10 people who fail in the MLM Industry do so because THEY ARE LAZY!! |
I did some research today; I found that people truly are looking for new ways of making money at home. In fact every month, 246,000 people type the words “make money from home“ into our good friend Mr Google. You could refer to these people as “glass half full” people or the “optimists“- those who have a belief that the internet and the good people who reside there are truly on to something that can change their life! If these are the people you begin looking for you will find your prospecting success will increase – THESE PEOPLE WANT TO BE FOUND!
The interesting thing is that every month for those 246,000 people, 8,100 people are typing in the words “mlm scam”, these are who I would call the “pessimists”. The pessimists generally consist of your closest friends, your family, and sometimes your neighbours, so don’t reel back in shock when those people I have just listed tell you that it’s a SCAM or a PYRAMID SCHEME! If your finding this industry difficult to get going in, maybe you are unknowingly putting yourself in the pessimist category, constantly trying to convince yourself that your opportunity is for real! I heard it once explained to me that success in this industry is all about POSTURE – which is not to be mistaken for the old saying “fake it till you make it…” Posture is about having that true belief that even if you haven’t yet had the success that your looking for, it IS on its way! If you have an irrefutable belief in what you are doing, then that belief will become like a magnet; pulling people in and making them ask what your doing, and why you are so resolute about it!
During my research for this article, I came across a statement that really does exemplify the purpose to this text; (The link is included so you can read the entire article at a later date.)
“Not everything on the world wide web is a scam and by allowing yourself to fall into generalizations, by treating all as equal, you miss on great opportunities, not only in network marketing, but everywhere in life.”

So, the much needed lesson that can be gained through your difficulty lifting your MLM business off the ground is this:
“As you go through life, keep in mind that struggling is an important part of any growth experience. In fact, it is the struggle that causes you to develop your ability to fly.”

Don’t give up! — Ignore the pessimists, become the optimists and just hang in there! — You WILL get there!
Yours in Success,

Hi Bradley
I am so grateful to have read this article. So many people need to read this as they do not realise what they are missing out on. There are so many great mlm opportunities out there with excellent compensation plans and real products that can make a different in people’s lives. I believe each and every day people can opt in or opt out of being successful in their own business. Rather than thinking the mlm opportunity they chose was a scam, people need to first think did they really put in the effort that is required to be successful in that business? I agree many that do get into the MLM industry are actually lazy people thinking that these are get rich quick schemes, not realising that these are real home business opportunities that require commitment, discipline, motivation and passion as you would in any non mlm traditional business and/or your bricks and mortar business. In most MLM opportunities it takes anywhere between 90 and 180 days to build momentum and a further 90 to 180 days to maintain that momentum. So you have to put in the effort and work the business consistently if you really want to be that 6 or 7 figure income earner. It just doesn’t fall into your lap. Thankyou and look forward to reading your blogs. Make it a great day and to your success.
Hi Maria! Thanks so much for your positive feedback about the article! It’s so great to connect and share with people from within the MLM industry! It’s so true what you say about the time it takes to build momentum, and I think that the momentum starts at a different point for everyone, the moment when the “switch is flicked” and it all makes sense! The trick now is to help others get to that point where they can turn on the “switch” and illuminate the success they already possess!! I think once someone masters that, the momentum kicks into overdrive! I’m lucky enough to be a school teacher by day, and I’m so blessed that I work in the two industries that I know of, where it is my job to help others “find the switch“. Thanks again for your kind words! I will pop on over to check out your blog too!
